Botswana has four airports with scheduled commercial service, including three international airports and one domestic airport. Most international travelers arrive via Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (GBE), the country’s primary gateway and the main airport for reaching Gaborone, the capital and administrative center.
For safari-focused trips, Maun International Airport (MUB) matters as the main gateway town for Okavango Delta safaris and light-air transfers into areas such as Moremi Game Reserve and Chief’s Island. In the north, Kasane International Airport (BBK) serves Kasane, a gateway town for Chobe National Park and Chobe River boat trips.
Phillip Gaonwe Matante International Airport (FRW) is the scheduled-service option in Francistown, a major northern hub with flights and overland connections, making it useful for pairing domestic flights with long road travel between cities and regions.
