The Bohdan Khmelnytsky Monument is an equestrian statue in central Kyiv located on Sofiiska Square, close to St. Sophia Cathedral. The monument commemorates the 17th-century hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky and dates to the late 19th century.

The statue is a focal point of the square and an easily recognized symbol of Kyiv. The immediate area is pedestrian-friendly and often used as a meeting place and for civic events. The statue is visible from surrounding terraces and from some viewpoints across the adjacent streets.

The monument was erected in the late 1800s to honor Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the leader of the 17th-century Cossack uprising. Over time the site has become a civic landmark and has been maintained and restored as part of Kyiv’s historic centre.

The monument sits in the historical core of Kyiv in the Shevchenkivskyi/Old Kyiv area, immediately beside St. Sophia Cathedral. It is in the city centre and a short walk from many other central landmarks and public transport stops.
