Basilan Island is a large island in the southern Philippines at the northern end of the Sulu Archipelago, located off the southern coast of the Zamboanga Peninsula. It is administered as a province and is part of the Bangsamoro autonomous region in the southern Philippines.

The island contains a mix of coastal towns, agricultural areas and interior hills, and its economy includes fishing, coconut and rubber production and small-scale trade. Urban centres include Isabela City, a major port and commercial hub, and Lamitan City, which serves as the provincial capital.

Basilan has a long history as part of the southern Philippine island networks and has been shaped by regional trade and political changes; in recent decades security and governance issues have also influenced travel and development on the island.
