Baoshan Region Travel Guide

The Baoshan Region occupies the southwestern part of Yunnan Province. It is a volcanic area of dozens of hot springs and karst formations and has Baoshan City as its main center.

Baoshan Region has long been the gateway to China from Southeast Asia. It encompasses four counties although only has around 2.5 million people. Baoshan City is the gateway to the Baoshan Region, with its airport and highway connection with Kunming.

The main appeal of the Baoshan Region for tourists is the Tengchong Hot Sea, with its dozens of volcanoes in the Volcano Park. The Nujiang Valley/Gorge is also over this way and tourists use Baoshan as a transit point for visiting it. Liuku, Fugong and Gongshan are the main towns in that region.
