Bach Ma National Park

Bach Ma National Park is a protected area in central Vietnam that conserves montane rainforest on and around Bach Ma mountain in Thua Thien-Hue province. The park protects a range of habitats from lowland forest to cloud forest at higher elevations and is known for its biological diversity.

Key visitor attractions include a network of hiking trails, waterfalls and viewpoints on the mountain, along with wildlife and birdwatching opportunities. The summit area reaches roughly 1,450 metres and offers panoramic views across the coastal plain and the South China Sea on clear days.

The area contains remnants of a French colonial hill station and associated villas built during the colonial era; these structures plus the natural scenery attract both nature-oriented and cultural visitors. Park infrastructure supports guided walks and short treks into the higher forest zones.

Bach Ma National Park sits in Thua Thien-Hue province, approximately a short drive south of the city of Hue and inland from the central Vietnamese coast. The park occupies a mountainous landscape that forms part of the Annamite range near the coast.
