Avicenna Mausoleum

The Avicenna Mausoleum in Hamadan, Iran, marks the burial site and commemorates the Persian scholar Avicenna (Ibn Sina), who died in 1037. The present memorial complex is a mid-20th-century construction and serves as the main monument to his life and work.

The site features a prominent tomb tower and a small museum and library that present materials related to Avicenna’s writings and influence on medicine and philosophy. The architectural form of the memorial draws on traditional and modern motifs and is intended as a focal point for visitors and scholars.
