Arosa is reached by rail via Chur - fly into Zurich and take trains (IC to Chur, then the RhB line up to Arosa). The mountain rail link is frequent and the most practical choice for visitors.
Zürich Airport (ZRH): Zürich is the main international gateway for Arosa. From Zürich Airport take a direct InterCity train to Chur (≈1-1h15) and then change for the Rhaetian Railway (Arosa line) from Chur to Arosa (≈1h15). The combined journey takes about 2.5-3 hours; Swiss Federal Rail fares vary but expect roughly CHF 30-60 for the full route depending on discounts and passes.
St. Gallen / Altenrhein (ACH) or regional airports: Regional airports have far fewer connections; most international visitors use Zurich and continue by rail to Chur then Arosa, as above.
Train: The Rhaetian Railway (RhB) runs Chur-Arosa; the branch line is a scenic mountain railway taking about 1h15 from Chur to Arosa. Trains are frequent and timed to connect with intercity services at Chur; single tickets for the Chur-Arosa stretch are modest and Swiss passes are accepted.
Bus: Arosa has a small local bus network and seasonal shuttle services; local buses and hotel shuttles cover the ski lifts and nearby villages. Local fares are low (a few CHF) and many hotels include shuttle services in winter.
