Anse Lazio

Anse Lazio is a white-sand beach on the northwest coast of Praslin Island in the Seychelles, located in the Baie Sainte Anne district. It is widely known for its granite boulders framing a broad crescent of sand and clear turquoise water.

The beach is used for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling in shallow reefs immediately offshore; calm conditions make it suitable for families. Facilities are limited to small kiosks and local vendors rather than large commercial developments.

The shoreline and boulder formations are part of the granitic Seychelles island group rather than recent coral atolls; the area has long been a natural recreation site rather than a constructed attraction. Management and access have evolved with tourism on Praslin but the site remains largely natural.

The bay sits on Praslin’s northwest coast within easy road access from the island’s main villages. Praslin lies to the northeast of Mahé across the Inner Islands waters; visitors usually reach the island by ferry or short domestic flight from Mahé.

• Snorkeling tip: Calm, clear water and a protective reef close to shore make it a reliable spot for snorkeling; sea conditions are best during the southeast trade season (roughly May to October).
• Viewpoint: A short rise behind the beach provides one of the standard viewpoints used for photographs across the bay.
