Most international travelers arrive through Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport (LAD), Angola’s primary gateway and the country’s only major airport handling high volumes of traffic. It serves Luanda, the main entry point in the Luanda & Coast region, with nearby stops such as Fortress of São Miguel, Ilha de Luanda, and access toward Quiçama National Park.
A second international option is Lubango Mukanka International Airport (SDD), useful for reaching Lubango, a base for Tundavala Gap and the south. Other airports that matter for specific regions include Catumbela Airport (CBT) for the Benguela Coast & South, including Benguela and nearby Lobito, and Cabinda Airport (CAB) for the Cabinda exclave. For inland routes, Malanje Airport (MEG) connects to Malanje, which serves Kalandula Falls, while Mbanza Congo Airport (SSY) supports travel to M’banza-Kongo. Domestic airports such as Menongue Airport (SPP) and Soyo Airport (SZA) help bridge long distances in a country where rain can make roads difficult from December to April.
