Ancient Congregational Mosque of Shiraz

The Ancient Congregational Mosque of Shiraz is the historic Friday mosque in the city of Shiraz, Fars province. It is among the city’s oldest mosque sites with origins in the early Islamic period (early medieval centuries).

The complex occupies a central position in Shiraz’s historic quarter and features a large courtyard and covered prayer spaces typical of a congregational mosque. Architectural details reflect multiple construction phases and repairs carried out by successive local dynasties.
