Amol is reached most conveniently by road or regional flight into Sari (Dasht-e Naz) with onward road connections. Long-distance trains and buses connect Amol with Tehran and other Mazandaran cities; local taxis and minibuses handle most last-mile travel.

By Air

Sari Dasht-e Naz Airport (SRY): The closest airport to Amol is Sari Dasht-e Naz (SRY), about a 40-60 minute drive depending on traffic. From Sari airport you can take a metered taxi to Amol (typical fare ~400,000-700,000 IRR, 45-60 min) or get a taxi into Sari city and change to an intercity minibus/bus toward Amol (local bus/minibus leg ~150,000-300,000 IRR, total travel time 60-90 min).

Tehran (Imam Khomeini IKA / Mehrabad THR): International and many domestic flights arrive in Tehran; from either Imam Khomeini (IKA) or Mehrabad (THR) you then travel overland to Amol. Common options are intercity bus from Tehran South Bus Terminal or trains from Tehran Railway Station (see train/bus card). Expect road journeys of about 3-4 hours by bus or car; taxis/private transfers from Tehran are considerably more expensive than public coaches.

By Train & Bus
