How to Get to Al-Qabil

Al‑Qabil in Ash Sharqiyah North is accessed mainly overland from Muscat or regional centres. There is no national passenger rail service in Oman; road travel by car, taxi or coach is the standard way to reach rural towns.

By Air

Muscat International Airport (MCT): The main international gateway for Oman. From Muscat you can hire a taxi or rent a car to reach Ash Sharqiyah North governorate; driving to Al‑Qabil and nearby towns typically takes several hours depending on the exact location and route.

Sohar / Duqm (regional airfields and ports): There are no large commercial airports closer than Muscat for many Ash Sharqiyah North localities; regional airfields handle limited services and most visitors use Muscat as the arrival point.

By Train & Bus

Train: Oman does not currently have a passenger national rail network in operation; there are no rail options to Al‑Qabil.

Bus / Intercity Coach: Intercity buses and private coach operators run routes from Muscat and other major towns toward the interior and to governorate centres (e.g., Ibra). From Ibra or other district centres you take local taxis to reach villages such as Al‑Qabil.
