How to Get to Aigio
Aigio is reachable from Athens by a mix of regional trains (part of the Athens-Patras corridor) and KTEL regional coaches; Araxos airport near Patras is an alternative regional arrival point with a shorter onward road journey.
Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Airport (ATH): Athens is the main international gateway for Aigio. From Athens to Aigio by road via the Athens-Corinth-Patras corridor (including the Rio-Antirrio bridge) takes roughly 2-3 hours depending on traffic; private transfers and buses operate on the route, with coach fares varying by operator.
Araxos Airport (GPA): Araxos (near Patras) is a smaller regional airport used at times for charter flights; from Araxos to Aigio the drive is about 45-60 minutes, making it a practical alternative for some regional arrivals.
Train: Aigio has a railway station on the Patras-Kiato-Athens suburban corridor (Proastiakos/OSE services) - connections to Kiato and onward services toward Athens are possible (some services require bus substitutions on sections). Journey times vary; Kiato-Athens rail links plus onward connections put Aigio within a few hours of Athens depending on service.
