How to Get to Nafpaktos#
Nafpaktos is best reached by road: intercity KTEL coaches from Athens or Patras, or by car from nearby regional airports. There is no rail station in the town, so buses and driving are the primary options.
Athens International Airport (ATH): The main international gateway for Nafpaktos. From Athens, you can reach Nafpaktos by intercity coach (KTEL) or rental car; the journey typically takes around 3-4 hours by road depending on traffic and route. Airport shuttle services and rental cars are widely available.
Preveza / Aktion Airport (PVK): Closer for western Greece, Aktion (Preveza) can be a convenient option depending on flight schedules; driving from PVK to Nafpaktos takes roughly 1.5-2 hours. Flights here are more limited than Athens, so check seasonal timetables.
Train: Nafpaktos has no direct rail connection. The nearest rail services are around Patras or further afield; rail is not the practical option for getting into Nafpaktos.
