How to Get to Missolonghi#
Missolonghi is most conveniently reached via Aktion/Preveza Airport or by intercity KTEL buses from Patras and Athens. There is no direct national rail link, so buses and private transfers are the practical public options.
Aktion / Preveza Airport (PVK): The closest airport for Missolonghi (about 30-45 minutes by road). From PVK you can take a taxi (≈€40-60, ~30-45 min) or arrange a pre-booked shuttle to Missolonghi. Seasonal charter and scheduled flights connect to major European cities.
Araxos Airport (GPA): An alternative for western Greece (near Patras). From Araxos the drive to Missolonghi takes about 1-1.5 hours by car or taxi; public transfers require a combination of shuttle/bus services and are less direct.
Train: There is no direct national rail service to Missolonghi - the nearest mainline stations are in Agrinio or Patras (limited long-distance rail on the Peloponnese/Greece mainland network). Rail is not the primary access mode.
