Admiralty Arch is a landmark building and ceremonial gateway in central London, linking The Mall with Trafalgar Square. Designed by architect Sir Aston Webb and completed in 1912, it was built as part of a processional route in central London and incorporates government offices and archways.

The structure comprises a central vehicular arch flanked by two pedestrian arches and carries a dedicatory inscription on its facade. It has been used historically as a formal route for state processions and today remains a prominent architectural feature at the eastern end of The Mall.

The arch sits on the north side of the road between Trafalgar Square and The Mall, immediately west of the Admiralty building and within short walking distance of Westminster and Whitehall; it is a frequent stop on central London sightseeing routes.

It’s a short walk from Charing Cross and Embankment stations (around 5-10 minutes from Charing Cross); the site is directly on The Mall and is easily reached on foot from nearby central London tube stops or by bus to Trafalgar Square.

• Visit at first light or after the evening rush for photos down The Mall with far fewer pedestrians and buses in the foreground.
• Approach by foot from Trafalgar Square or St. James's Park to catch the classical façade and the perspective up The Mall toward Buckingham Palace; many visitors only see the arch from the busy roadway.
• Look for the dedication inscription and the less‑noticed pedestrian passages on the arch's flanks - they provide quieter routes into St. James's Park away from the main tourist clusters.
