Little has changed here for hundreds of years, making this a good place to discover the area's traditional culture and history. There are a couple of beaches located on the outskirts of Tasikmalaya, and beach bunnies will have plenty of room to stretch out on the sand here.
What make Tasikmalaya really special are its arts and crafts, with many of the people who live here skilled in traditional crafts. This is a good place to pick up a souvenir or two before heading off to the heady pleasures of one of Indonesia's vibrant cities.
Travel to Tasikmalaya - Getting There
Tasikmalay is a 3-hour bus ride from the city of Bandung, which has its own international airport. Buses also run to Tasikmalaya from towns as cities such as Bogor and Sukabumi, while Jakarta is a 24-hour bus journey away.

Situ Gede - this natural lake is located in the heart of the city.
Kampung Naga this traditional Indonesian village is located on the bank of the Ciwjulan River, just to the west of Tasikmalaya.
Pantai Karang Tawulan although small, this beach area is beautiful and attracts a good number of visitors.
