How to Get to Xingtai

Xingtai is most easily reached by rail: it has both conventional and high‑speed stations (Xingtai Railway Station and Xingtai East) on major north-south corridors. The nearest major airport is Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport (SJW); from there you usually transfer by shuttle, taxi or train into Xingtai.

By Air

Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport (SJW): From SJW you typically connect to Xingtai by first taking the airport shuttle or a taxi into Shijiazhuang city (airport shuttle to Shijiazhuang city ~¥25-30, 30-40 minutes), then a regular or high-speed train from Shijiazhuang Railway Station to Xingtai (see Train card for train times and fares). Direct taxis from SJW to Xingtai are possible (roughly ¥300-450, about 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic). Some long‑distance coach services also run from the airport or nearby terminals toward Xingtai (typical coach fares roughly ¥40-90, 1.5-2 hours).

By Train & Bus

Train: Xingtai is served by Xingtai Railway Station (邢台站) for conventional services and Xingtai East (邢台东站) on the Beijing-Guangzhou high‑speed line for fast services. High‑speed trains on the HSR link Xingtai with Shijiazhuang and Beijing; short intercity trips (e.g., Shijiazhuang-Xingtai) are often 20-60 minutes with fares typically in the tens of yuan (second‑class HSR tickets commonly range from ~¥20-¥80 depending on distance). Book via China Railway or official ticket apps; stations have taxi ranks and local bus connections.

Bus: Long‑distance coaches depart from Xingtai’s main coach terminals (e.g., Xingtai Long‑distance Bus Station / 邢台客运站) with routes to nearby cities such as Shijiazhuang, Handan and Beijing. Fares vary by distance - local intercity coaches are often ¥30-¥120 - and travel times depend on route and traffic (expect 1.5-3+ hours for regional trips). Buses can be cheaper than taxis but are subject to highway traffic and fewer departures late at night.

How to Get Around Xingtai

Xingtai is easiest to navigate by rail and taxi: use Xingtai East for fast intercity travel and Didi/taxis for convenient local transfers. Local buses are very cheap but can be slow and confusing for non‑Chinese speakers, while walking works well for short city-center trips.
