Xenophontos monastery is an Eastern Orthodox monastery located within the Monastic community of Mount Athos in Greece. It is one of the twenty ruling monasteries on the Athos peninsula and functions as an active monastic community.
The site includes the principal church (katholikon), cells for the brotherhood and a library; it preserves liturgical life, religious art and manuscript collections typical of Athonite monasteries. Visits are possible under the terms set by the Mount Athos authorities and require the appropriate male-only permit arrangements.

How to Get to Xenophontos monastery #
Xenophontos Monastery is on the Athos peninsula in the Monastic Community of Mount Athos. Visitors travel to Ouranoupoli (Chalcidice) - reachable by KTEL bus or car from Thessaloniki - then take the ferry to Dafni, the main port of Mount Athos. From Dafni you proceed to monasteries by local boat or overland paths; note that visiting Mount Athos requires a special pilgrimage permit (diamonitirion) issued in advance and access is restricted (only men are permitted).
