How to Get to Wum
Wum is primarily reached overland from Bamenda and other regional centres; there are no practical passenger rail links. Taxi‑brousse, private hires and local minibuses are the main transport modes.
Bamenda Airport (BPC): Bamenda is the nearest commercial airport for the Northwest Region; from Bamenda you can reach Wum by road (shared taxi or private car). The journey typically takes 2-3 hours depending on road conditions.
Yaoundé Nsimalen (NSI) / Douala (DLA): If arriving via Yaoundé or Douala, expect a significantly longer overland journey to Wum (several hours to a full day) by intercity coach or a combination of flights and road travel.
Train: Cameroon’s passenger rail network does not provide practical services to Wum.
Bus / Taxi‑brousse: Shared minibuses (taxi‑brousse) and intercity coaches connect regional centres; from Bamenda there are road services to Wum. Services can be irregular and are sensitive to road conditions-ask locally for current schedules.
