West Hartford Travel Guide

With shopping facilities perhaps its greatest selling point, the town of West Hartford is a destination situated in Hartford County in the state of Connecticut. With permanent resident figures reaching over 64,000, it’s a fairly densely populated area with the majority of folk sitting in high wage brackets and living in fairly upmarket accommodation.

West Hartford is not especially big, covering only 22 square miles and is often considered as just a suburb of the larger Hartford City, which is in fact the capital of the state. The town is neighbored by Avon, Bloomfield, Farmington and Newington and is within 100 miles of both Boston and New York City, offering some good day trip opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

The West Hartford Center is the focal point of West Hartford’s downtown center and the place to find the best of its retail and dining scenes. Additionally, a popular spot with visitors is the Westfarms Mall located on the town’s border with Farmington.
