Those in need of functional and fashionable headwear once flocked to the city of Danbury in Fairfield County, Connecticut where, at the height of its success, the appropriately dubbed ‘Hat City’ was responsible for producing 25 percent of America’s hats. These days only the nickname remains as testament to this once thriving industry.

With a population approaching 80,000, Danbury is considered one of the state’s fastest growing cities. A large ethnic component to the population gives the city a diverse cultural atmosphere and contributes to its restaurant scene and annual festival selection. Tarrywile parks are among the city’s popular greenbelt areas, all ideal for a spot of relaxation or outdoor activity on a pleasant summer’s day.

Danbury Ice Arena: open public skating times allow visitors to strap on boots and enjoy the thrill of the ice while a variety of scheduled sporting events make for an exciting few hours.
