About Wendake

Wendake is a Huron-Wendat First Nations community and reserve located adjacent to Quebec City that serves as the political and cultural centre of the Huron-Wendat Nation. It is known for its museums, cultural programming and maintenance of Wendat traditions.

The contemporary community grew as the Huron-Wendat people re-established a settled reserve area after centuries of displacement; today it functions as both a living community and a centre for the preservation and interpretation of Wendat heritage.

Wendake lies within the administrative region around Quebec City in the province of Quebec and is contiguous with urban and suburban parts of the provincial capital, making it easy to reach from downtown Quebec City.
