How to Get to Warisan
Warisan is best reached via Dubai's main airports: Dubai International (DXB) for the fastest access and Al Maktoum International (DWC) for some low-cost or charter flights. Dubai Metro (Red Line) and RTA buses link major arrival points to central Dubai, while taxis and ride-hailing fill gaps off the rail network.
Dubai International (DXB): Dubai International is the main airport for the city and is served by two metro stations (Airport Terminal 1 and Airport Terminal 3) on the Red Line. From Terminal 3 you can take the Dubai Metro to central Dubai (Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall) in about 20-30 minutes; single-trip fares with a Nol card are typically 3-8 AED. Taxis from DXB to downtown usually take 20-45 minutes depending on traffic and cost roughly 25-70 AED.
Al Maktoum International (DWC): Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central is farther south and is not on the metro network. Public transport is limited; most travellers use taxis or prebooked transfers. A taxi to central Dubai takes about 40-60 minutes and typically costs in the region of 60-130 AED depending on destination and traffic; some hotels and carriers operate paid airport shuttles - check schedules in advance.
Train: Dubai Metro is the city’s backbone for public transit. Key stations near major arrival points are Airport Terminal 1 and Airport Terminal 3 (Red Line); other important stations include Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Union and Deira City Centre. Typical single-trip fares using a Nol card run about 3-8 AED and travel times along the Red Line are generally 5-10 minutes between central stops and about 20-30 minutes from the airport to Downtown Dubai.
Bus: The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) runs an extensive bus network with major hubs such as Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Ibn Battuta Bus Station for intercity routes. Local bus fares are usually 3-7 AED with a Nol card; travel times vary by route but expect 20-60+ minutes depending on distance and traffic. Inter-emirate coaches and some airport shuttles operate from the main bus terminals - check RTA timetables for exact route numbers and schedules.
How to Get Around Warisan
The Metro + Nol card cover most trunk journeys and are usually the fastest, cheapest option for getting around central Dubai. For first/last-mile connections, taxis or ride-hailing are convenient; rent a car only if you need to travel frequently outside the city or on your own schedule.
- Dubai Metro (Red & Green Lines) (3-8 AED) - The Metro is the most reliable, cost-effective way to cover the main north-south corridor (Sheikh Zayed Road) and link to major tourist and business hubs. Use a Nol card for the best fares (single trips typically 3-8 AED); Gold Class and women/children-only cabins are available. Trains run frequently in daytime (every few minutes on the Red Line) and connect key stations such as Airport Terminal 3 and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall.
- Dubai Tram (3-6 AED) - The Tram serves Dubai Marina and Jumeirah areas and links to the Metro at certain interchange stations, making it handy for short trips around the Marina and JBR. Fares are paid with a Nol card (typically 3-6 AED). Trams are useful for avoiding short taxi rides in the Marina corridor but have a more limited coverage compared with the Metro.
- Taxis & Ride-hailing (Careem, Uber) (25-150 AED) - Taxis are plentiful, metered, and a practical choice for door-to-door trips or when public transport doesn't reach your destination. Expect fares from central areas to start around 25-35 AED for short trips; longer rides across emirates or from DWC can be significantly more (see airport notes). Ride-hailing apps (Careem, Uber) are widely used and let you compare fixed fares or meter options - peak traffic and airport surcharges add to costs.
- Buses (RTA & Intercity coaches) (3-7 AED) - RTA buses cover the whole city and complement the Metro for areas off the rail network; major hubs include Al Ghubaiba and Ibn Battuta. Local fares are low (around 3-7 AED with Nol) but journeys can be slow in heavy traffic. For travel to other emirates, use scheduled intercity coaches from the main bus stations - timetables and route numbers are published on the RTA website.
- Car rental (120-350 AED/day) - Renting a car gives maximum flexibility, especially if you plan day trips outside Dubai or need to move between dispersed suburbs. Daily rates typically start around 120-350 AED depending on car class and season; factor in parking fees and Salik tolls (4 AED per toll). Be prepared for fast highways and different parking rules in residential and commercial zones.
- Walking - Walking is practical for short distances in compact areas such as Downtown Dubai, the Dubai Marina promenade, and pedestrianised retail zones. Summers are very hot, so plan walks for early morning or evening and stick to shaded routes, covered walkways and metro-linked pedestrian paths when possible.
