How to Get to Vilnius Cathedral

Vilnius Cathedral (Vilniaus Katedra) sits on Cathedral Square at the base of Gediminas Hill on Gedimino prospektas (Gediminas Avenue) in the heart of Vilnius Old Town. It’s in the city centre and is a short walk from most central hotels and the main Vilnius railway and bus stations (roughly a 10-20 minute walk). Local city buses and trolleybuses serve stops on Gedimino prospektas if you prefer to ride a short distance.

  • Aim for first thing in the morning when the square is quiet and the cathedral façade catches soft light; midday is busiest with tour groups and locals attending services.
