The Vijaya Stambha is a 15th century victory tower located within the outer complex of Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan. It was constructed as a monumental commemorative tower and is one of the fort’s principal monuments.
The tower rises to about 37 metres and is composed of nine storeys with richly carved stonework, niches, and sculptural panels. Narrow internal staircases lead to higher levels and viewing balconies that give sweeping views across the fort and the surrounding plains.
It was erected by Rana Kumbha in the mid 15th century to celebrate a military victory. Over subsequent centuries it remained an important symbolic structure within the defensive and ceremonial layout of Chittorgarh Fort.
