Dhebar Lake Lake

Dhebar Lake, commonly known as Jaisamand Lake, is a large artificial lake in Rajasthan, India created by constructing a dam across a local river system. It is notable in the region for its size and for islands and shoreline features that attract visitors.

The lake area supports boating, fishing and birdwatching; several small islands and lakeside structures are points of interest for visitors. The surrounding landscape includes dry deciduous forest and cultivated land where lakeside villages are located.

The reservoir was formed historically by royal initiative to create water storage and related lakeside works; it has since served irrigation, fisheries and local tourism roles. Structures and water-management features from the period of construction remain visible around the lake.

Dhebar/Jaisamand Lake is located in southern Rajasthan amid rolling hills and plains, east of the city of Udaipur within the lake-dotted region of the Aravalli foothills.
