Vigeland Museum

The Vigeland Museum in Oslo is dedicated to the work of Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland and is located at the edge of Frogner Park. The museum contains the artist’s studio and a collection of models, drawings and finished sculptures.

Adjacent Frogner Park, commonly known as Vigeland Park, displays the largest single-artist sculpture installation in the world with more than 200 works in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Notable pieces include the Monolith, the Wheel of Life and the widely visited “Sinnataggen” (Angry Boy).

Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) designed the park’s arrangement of sculptures during the first half of the 20th century; the museum complements the park by showing preparatory drawings and models. The site lies in the Frogner borough, west of Oslo city centre and within walking distance of central Oslo.
