The Vietnam Women’s Memorial is a bronze sculpture group on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., that honors the women who served in and supported the U.S. effort during the Vietnam War. The memorial was unveiled in 1993 and forms part of the broader Vietnam Veterans Memorial complex.
The sculpture depicts three uniformed women tending to a wounded soldier and is placed near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. It is intended as a complementary monument recognizing the roles of nurses, support staff and volunteers during the conflict.
The memorial stands on the National Mall close to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and near Constitution Gardens and the Reflecting Pool. It is accessible on foot from central Washington, D.C., and is visited in conjunction with other nearby war memorials.
