Vân Đồn Island (Vân Đồn) is served by Vân Đồn International Airport (VDO) with flights from Hanoi and other cities, making it the quickest gateway. By road, Vân Đồn is connected to Hạ Long and other parts of Quảng Ninh by National Highway 18 - the drive from Hạ Long is typically around 1-2 hours, and from Hà Nội about 3.5-4 hours depending on traffic.

From the airport or the island’s main towns you can reach beaches, ports and attractions by taxi, rented motorbike or local transport; ferry connections to nearby islands depart from the island’s ports.
