The Uvs Nuur Basin is a large endorheic drainage basin in western Mongolia centred on the saline Uvs Nuur (Uvs Lake). It contains a wide range of ecosystems from desert and steppe to alpine and tundra within a single basin.
The basin’s mosaic of ecosystems supports traditional pastoral use and important wildlife populations; camping and overland travel are common visitor activities but infrastructure is sparse.
