United Nations Memorial Cemetery

The United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, South Korea, is a dedicated burial ground for United Nations service personnel who died during the Korean War. It serves as a multinational memorial and is maintained as an active commemorative site.

The site features rows of grave plots, national memorials, and a central ceremonial plaza where flags and monuments honour the dead; memorial tablets record the names of the fallen and those missing in action. Established during and after the Korean War, the cemetery has been maintained to preserve the graves and memorials of UN personnel from several nations and to provide a focal point for multinational remembrance. It is located on a hillside in Busan and is accessible from the city by road.

The cemetery sits in the Nam-gu area of Busan on the city’s eastern side, overlooking the surrounding urban area and sea approaches, and is easily reached from central Busan.
