Una National Park

Una National Park protects a stretch of the Una River and adjacent landscapes in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina and is known for its clear water, rapids and waterfalls. The park conserves river corridors, waterfalls and forested canyon terrain that are important for both nature and recreation.

Visitors come for day hikes, waterfalls and river-based activities such as kayaking and short rafting trips on designated reaches of the Una. The park’s most famous features include cascading falls and broad river pools that are accessible from established viewing paths.

The park was created in the 21st century to provide state-level protection for the Una river landscape and its biodiversity. Management focuses on balancing recreation, local livelihoods and habitat protection.

Una National Park lies in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, with main access points near the town of Bihać and smaller settlements such as Martin Brod; the river flows westward toward the Croatian border.
