How to Get to Huangshan City

Huangshan City (Tunxi) is served by Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN) and by Huangshan North railway station (黄山北站) on the high-speed network. Tunxi (the city centre and old street area) is the usual arrival point for visitors heading to the city or onward to the Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) scenic area.

By Air

Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN): The airport is the main air gateway for Huangshan City, located south of Tunxi District. Airport shuttle buses run to Tunxi (Tunxi Old Street / Tunxi Bus Station) - typical fare about ¥30 and journey time 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis and Didi are available outside arrivals; expect a ride to Tunxi in roughly 40-50 minutes for about ¥120-160. Airport transfer vans and private transfers to the Yellow Mountain (Huangshan Scenic Area) are also offered seasonally (prices vary).

By Train & Bus

Train: Huangshan North (黄山北站) is the city’s high-speed rail hub on the Hefei-Fuzhou corridor. Regular G/D trains connect Huangshan with Shanghai Hongqiao, Nanjing and Hefei - typical journey times are around 3-3.5 hours from Shanghai, 2-2.5 hours from Nanjing and 1.5-2 hours from Hefei; second-class fares commonly fall in the range ¥80-¥200 depending on origin and distance.
