Trzy Korony
Mountain Distinctive Three Peaks massif in Pieniny National Park
The Three Crowns massif in Pieniny National Park reaches around 982 m; hikers climb to its lookout platform for views over the Dunajec River gorge and often pair the trek with raft trips.
Trzy Korony is a limestone massif in the Pieniny Mountains in southern Poland, notable for its highest peak Okrąglica at 982 metres and its prominent three-crowned silhouette. It is one of the best-known summits in the Pieniny range and a key landmark in Pieniny National Park.
A short, well-marked network of trails leads to the summit terrace on Okrąglica, which provides panoramic views over the Dunajec River Gorge and surrounding Pieniny peaks. Walks from nearby towns typically take a few hours round-trip and include steep sections and stone steps; the massif includes several named crags linked by the ridge.
The limestone crags were formed by geological uplift and erosion; the area was later incorporated into Pieniny National Park in 1932 to protect its unique karst formations and river valley. Over time the site developed tourist infrastructure including marked trails and the viewing platform on Okrąglica.
Located above the Dunajec River near the towns of Krościenko nad Dunajcem and Szczawnica in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Trzy Korony sits in the central Pieniny range. It is roughly 100 kilometres southeast of Kraków and a short drive from the tourist towns that serve as common trailheads.
