Toron is the name of a ruined medieval fortress site in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh Governorate. The remains are commonly associated with Crusader-period fortifications in the region.
The fortress was established and modified during the medieval period and changed hands between Crusader and regional powers in successive campaigns. Its surviving fabric reflects its defensive role in a contested frontier zone.
The ruins sit on a hill in the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Lebanon, set above agricultural land and villages of the region. The site is reached from local roads serving the surrounding towns.
