How to Get to Baucau
Baucau is most commonly reached overland from Dili (DIL) by shared minibus or private car; Baucau Airport exists but commercial flights are intermittent. Expect multi-hour drives on winding, sometimes slow roads across the island.
Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport, Dili (DIL): Dili is the main international airport for Timor-Leste and the primary entry point for travelers heading to Baucau and other towns. From Dili, road travel by taxi or minibuses connects to eastern towns.
Baucau Airport (BCO): Baucau has a historic airfield (Baucau Airport), though regular commercial services are limited-check current schedules before planning to use BCO. When flights operate, Baucau Airport places you very close to Baucau town (short taxi or motorbike ride).
