Temple of the Olympian Zeus Religious Site

The Temple of the Olympian Zeus at Akragas (Agrigento) is a large classical Greek Doric temple built in the 5th century BCE and situated within the Valle dei Templi archaeological park in Sicily.

Visitors encounter a wide archaeological layout of ruined foundations, fallen column drums and sculptural fragments that indicate the temple’s former monumental scale. The surviving remains form part of a larger landscape of Greek temples at Agrigento that together represent one of the best-preserved ancient Greek city sites outside mainland Greece.
