Tegua is an island in the Torres group within Torba Province in northern Vanuatu. It is part of the northernmost chain of islands in the country and is administered at the provincial level by Torba.
The island is a small, inhabited landform where local Ni-Vanuatu communities maintain customary lifestyles. Access is by inter-island boat services from larger islands within the province and there are no large-scale tourist facilities on the island.
Population and settlement patterns are typical of remote northern Vanuatu islands, with village-based communities and subsistence agriculture and fishing as primary livelihoods. Traditional governance and cultural practices remain important to local life.
Tegua lies in the northern Vanuatu archipelago and is part of the Torres Islands subgroup, well to the north of the main island chains of Vanuatu.
