Taubenloch

Taubenloch refers to the narrow gorge area in the Canton of Bern carved by the Suze river near the Biel/Bienne region. It is a locally known natural feature used for short recreational walks and river-side viewing.

The site is characterised by steep rock walls, a confined river channel and wooded slopes that concentrate the walking experience into a relatively short route. Trails include viewpoints that look into the gorge and along the river corridor.

Geologically the gorge was formed by river incision through local bedrock and is integrated into the regional landscape between low-lying valley areas and the lower Jura foothills. The gorge links nearby settlements and is accessed from local roads and walking paths in the Biel/Bienne area.

The Taubenloch area is usually visited as a short outdoor excursion from Biel/Bienne or neighbouring villages; access is on foot from nearby parking and transit points.
