Tarkwa, a mining town in Ghana's Western Region, is most easily reached by road from Sekondi-Takoradi or Accra. Flights to Sekondi-Takoradi plus a road transfer are the most practical air-to-town route.
Sekondi-Takoradi Airport (TKD): Sekondi-Takoradi is the nearest commercial airport to Tarkwa; from Takoradi you can travel by road to Tarkwa in roughly 40-60 minutes depending on traffic.
Kotoka International Airport, Accra (ACC): Accra is Ghana’s main international hub; from Accra you can reach Tarkwa by coach or private car, or fly to Takoradi and continue by road - expect several hours on the road from Accra.
