By Air

Takoradi Airport (TKD): Takoradi is the closest commercial airport serving Ghana’s Western Region; from Takoradi you continue by road to Axim by intercity bus or shared taxi along the coastal road.

Kotoka International Airport (ACC): Ghana’s main international gateway in Accra is used by most international visitors; from Accra take a long-distance bus or coach to Takoradi and then continue to Axim by local transport.

By Train & Bus

Train: Ghana’s coastal train services are limited and not a primary option for Axim.

Bus / Tro-tro: Intercity buses and tro-tros run between Accra, Takoradi and Axim along the coastal route. Tro-tros are the cheapest option; long-distance buses are more comfortable for the multi-hour trip.
