How to Get to Tanjungpandan
Tanjungpandan (Belitung) is served by H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport (TJQ); from there the town centre is a short taxi or ojek ride. On the island, scooters, taxis and arranged tours are the most practical ways to get around.
H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport (TJQ): Tanjungpandan’s H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin Airport is the island’s main airport with flights to/from Jakarta and other Indonesian cities. The airport is about 10-20 minutes by taxi to downtown Tanjungpandan; taxi fares from the airport to the town centre are typically a modest fixed rate and the drive is short.
Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta / CGK): Most international travellers connect via Jakarta; domestic carriers fly from CGK to TJQ several times daily. From TJQ you continue to Tanjungpandan by taxi, ojek (motorcycle taxi) or rented scooter.
Train: There is no rail service on Belitung island.
