Tamboril is best reached via Santiago de los Caballeros and Cibao International Airport (STI). The town is only a short overland trip from Santiago, so most visitors transfer by taxi, local minivan or rented car.
Cibao International Airport, Santiago (STI): Cibao (STI) is the closest commercial airport for Santiago province. Tamboril is a short drive from Santiago city; taxi or private transfer from STI to Tamboril typically takes 20-40 minutes depending on traffic and costs substantially less than transfers from Santo Domingo.
Las Américas / Santo Domingo (SDQ): Santo Domingo is an alternative international entry point. Road travel from SDQ to Tamboril takes longer (several hours) and most visitors bound for Tamboril will prefer to fly into STI and travel overland the short distance into the municipality.
Train: There is no national passenger rail connection serving Tamboril; rail transport is not a practical option.
