How to Get to Taguasco

Taguasco is a municipality in Sancti Spíritus Province best reached via Santa Clara (Abel Santamaría Airport) and then by road. The simplest route is to fly into Santa Clara and continue by shared taxi or provincial bus to Taguasco.

By Air

Abel Santamaría Airport, Santa Clara (SNU): Santa Clara is the nearest airport with regular domestic and limited international flights. From Santa Clara to Taguasco the most common options are shared taxis (colectivos) or private taxi - travel time is roughly 30-45 minutes by road.

Jardines del Rey (Cayo Coco, CCC): Cayo Coco airport serves the northern keys and is much farther; arrivals here require a long overland transfer and are not normally used for Taguasco.

By Train & Bus

Train: Cuba’s rail network is limited for passengers and does not provide convenient service to Taguasco; rail travel is not a practical arrival method.

Bus: Provincial buses and shared taxis operate between Santa Clara and Taguasco. Local intermunicipal buses run from Santa Clara’s bus stations; expect a 30-45 minute journey. Shared taxis (colectivos) are faster and more frequent than scheduled provincial buses.
