Tabing Airport (the former airport for Padang, West Sumatra) ceased commercial operations after Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) opened. It is no longer used for regular commercial passenger flights.
All scheduled passenger services for Padang now operate via Minangkabau International Airport, which is located further from the city than the old Tabing site.
Terminal Guide for Tabing Airport #
The former passenger terminal at Tabing is no longer in regular commercial use since operations moved to Minangkabau International Airport. There are no scheduled commercial passenger services at Tabing.
Getting to and From Tabing Airport #
Use Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) for Padang travel; PDG is located outside the city and typically takes 30-60 minutes to reach Padang by road depending on traffic. Ground transport to PDG includes airport buses, taxis and private transfers.
Facilities, Shopping, and Dining at Tabing Airport #
Since Tabing no longer handles scheduled commercial flights, passenger facilities are not available for regular travellers. For passenger services, use Minangkabau International Airport where shops, cafés, car hire and other services are available.

- Tabing is closed: don’t plan travel via this airport - use Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) for Padang.
