Swaminarayan Akshardham (Delhi)

Swaminarayan Akshardham in Delhi is a large modern Hindu temple complex built by the BAPS organisation and opened in 2005, combining a carved central mandir with exhibition spaces, gardens and performance features.

Commissioned and developed by the BAPS community in the early 21st century, the complex was completed and opened to the public in 2005 and has since become a major religious and tourist destination in the Delhi region. Its construction drew on traditional carving techniques applied at a large contemporary scale.

Located in eastern New Delhi on the Yamuna floodplain corridor, the complex is served by a dedicated metro station and is accessible from central Delhi by road and public transport.
