The auditorium seats several hundred people and the venue stages locally produced operas, ballets and touring shows.
Located in central Kadıköy, the theatre is within walking distance of ferries and rail links on Istanbul’s Asian shore and serves as a cultural hub for the neighbourhood.
- Restoration and capacity: The building underwent major restoration and was reopened as an opera house in the 2000s; it combines early 20th-century decorative styling with a modest auditorium of several hundred seats.
