Suan Luang Rama IX is a large public park in Bangkok, Thailand, named in honor of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and created as a commemorative project inaugurated in 1987. It combines ornamental gardens, a large central lake and organized green spaces.
The park contains a botanical garden, formal rose gardens, walking and jogging paths and a sizeable central lake used for boating and leisure. Seasonal flower displays and an annual flower festival draw many visitors for horticultural exhibits and photography.
Established as a commemorative park for King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 60th birthday in 1987, the site has been developed as a city green space and botanical collection. Management has focused on horticulture, public recreation and events since its opening.
