How to Get to Strumica
Strumica is primarily reached by road from Skopje or nearby Greek border points; there are no regular passenger trains. Intercity buses and marshrutkas connect Strumica with Skopje and other regional towns.
Skopje International (SKP): Skopje is the nearest major airport for international arrivals. From Skopje, you can reach Strumica by coach or taxi - journey time is typically about 1.5-2.5 hours by road depending on service and traffic; fares for buses are generally a few hundred MKD.
Thessaloniki Airport (SKG): For some international routings you may fly into Thessaloniki (Greece) and travel overland; cross-border bus or private transfer times are longer (3-4+ hours) and fares vary by operator.
Train: Strumica does not have a significant passenger rail service; rail is not a practical option for most visitors to the town.
Bus: Strumica has a central bus station with regular services to Skopje and regional destinations. Coaches and minibuses (maršrutka) run several times daily; journey times to Skopje are roughly 1.5-2.5 hours and fares are typically a few hundred MKD.
